## About the bank
One Zero is a digital bank licensed by the Bank of Israel. It has no branches: clients manage their account remotely. According to Calcalist, the bank's loss in the first half of 2026 was NIS 84 million, and annual profit is expected in 2027. The size of assets and the number of clients are not stated in verified sources.
The digital format in Israel is only gaining momentum. Pepper, the digital bank of the Leumi group, operates alongside it, and a second conditionally licensed bank, Esh, began a soft launch in 2026.
## Account for non-residents and Russians
One Zero has not published terms for non-residents. This means a tourist, or a person who has not yet received status in Israel, should not count on this bank. If you are a new immigrant, it is safer to open an account first at an ordinary bank with a visit in person, and add a digital account later.
General limits remain for Russians: transfers from Russia are practically unavailable because of sanctions, and banks check the source of funds and tax residency.
## Cards and payments
One Zero's card products are not disclosed on public pages, so we do not describe them. Mir and SBP are unavailable: Israeli banks do not work with Russian banks because of sanctions. Plan on Visa and Mastercard cards. For payments between people, apps such as Bit and PayBox are used.
## Fees and limits
Fees are published on the bank's website. The Bank of Israel fee reform from October 2026 will affect all banks, including digital ones.
## Israel's digital banks in brief
| Bank | Status | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| Pepper | Digital bank of the Leumi group | Residents and new immigrants with an Israeli ID |
| One Zero | Digital bank licensed by the Bank of Israel | Residents; terms for non-residents not published |
| Esh | Conditional license since December 2022, soft launch by invitation in 2026 | Terms not published |
| Revolut | Preparing to launch as a lean bank on the basis of a payment license | Launch date not announced |
The table shows the main point: digital banks are so far designed for residents, and for a newcomer they serve as a second account, not the first. Young banks' profits have not yet reached a steady level, so use them as a supplement to your main account at one of the large banks and do not keep your whole balance there.
## Who it suits
- Israeli residents who do not need branches.
- Those who are comfortable with a bank that is still running at a loss.
Newcomers and non-residents should first study the ranking of banks and the main account options at Leumi and Discount.
